Meeting the genderqueer and multifaceted art persona SAKURI:

Born to slay and speak critique. All that in nice dresses. Artsy, weird, electronic, lyrical, nasty, queer, 161.

SAKURI is a musician and producer, rapper and singer, trombonist and dj.

Their musical approach can be seen as a triptych:

EXTRAVAGANT CONCERT PERFORMANCES with self-produced songs
SLAY HOUSE dj sets
ECSTATIC DANCE dj sets and mastrix of ceremony

PERFORMING their self-produced songs SAKURI celebrates what mama gave them and at the same time reflects the power asymmetries of their environment. Kcuf the normal, cheer the weird!

In – let’s say – more – dionysian – realms SAKURI is better known as the SUGALICIOUS PRINCASS – serving SLAY HOUSE to needy satyrs and lush maenads. Often seen with ZUZU alias the SLAYIN’ GODASS and together with WOANDERS as the TOO HOT TO HANDLE duo.

As being co-founder of the ECSTATIC CUTIES collective SAKURI sees themself as a first row ecstatic dance reformer integrating trauma sensitive queer and marginalized perspectives into the format. They themself plays ecstatic dance dj sets and guides through the event as MASTRIX OF CEREMONY.
